Because contacts lenses rely on light refraction into the lens. Is it possible to have transition lens or lens just fully like sunglasses...
No you cannot have transition effect put into contact lenses. However, some lenses do come with a UV filter built in them. This gives you the protection you need, but not the tinted effect
