Contact Lenses Financial Assistance?

Hi. I have a serious condition with my eyes and need to wear SynergEyes contacts as a temporary way to see throughout the day until it's time to have surgery..unfortunately Medicare and Medicaid won't cover the expenses of the contacts which is pretty costly and I cannot afford them....it's very important that I get these contact lenses...the ones I'm using right now have been expired......does anyone know where I can get help to pay for them it would be very appreciated.

Contact your local "lighthouse for the blind." Usually "Medically necessary" contact lenses will be covered by insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid for certain eye conditions with special paperwork from the doctor, depending on the State you are in. I find it interesting the contacts have "expired." Most contact prescriptions are good for a year, so you have had time to plan for a doctor to recheck you and renew the prescription.

Contact your prescribing doctor, ask if they will allow you to make payments. Often, in medical conditions, eye doctors make some arrangements to help you afford what you need. Contact the makers of SynergEyes, explain the situation. Sometimes they will "comp " a pair for your doctor to dispense to a patient genuinely in need. Companies do that all the time. I know when I was fitting contact lenses the companies I dealt with and their representatives were always more than willing to help when I had a special case.

But, if you "really" don't need them, or if you can actually figure out a way to afford them, you shouldn't take advantage of the generosity of these good people. Only you can decide that, and remember a lot of "nice" and "thank you" go a long way. If they help you, it is out of their pocket. Do your part and take proper care of your contacts and your eyes, and if you must make payments, don't shaft them.
