How long will it take for me to get used to my contact lenses?
Ok so I got my contact lenses yesterday 10-1-08 and today is my 2nd day wearing them. My eyes keep drying out, which makes me blink repeatedly. I have had contact lenses in the past, which didn't bother my eyes at much as these ones. The other contacts I had were Freshlooks, the ones I have now are the newer ones called Silicone Hydrogel. The doctor said the older contact lenses don't give eyes enough oxygen they need. He says the Silicone Hydrogel does which is why I chose these ones. Please help me.. is this normal? My eyes are killing me..
Even though the silicone hydrogel lenses are better for oxygen permeability and eye health, they arent always more comfortable than other lenses. Sounds like you may need to try different types of lenses. ALso, if you have dry eye problems to begin with you also need to address that. Acuvue moist daily lenses might be an ootion. d/w your optometrist
