Proclear Toric VS Purevision Toric VS night and day?
I hear proclear toric lenses are the best for dry eyes, and carry a FDA label saying they do as well. But I have seen Purevision toric lenses are popular as well. I have very dry eyes, and I currently use Biomedics55 premier lenses which dry out throughout the day. I need to switch to a better lens for dry eyes. Which one of these is better? and have any other suggestions for dry eye contacts?
Also what is the difference between Toric, and Toric XR? I see the XR's are more expensive. Are they better quality or something? or are they for a specific issue?
The XR are torics also, but in an extended range of powers. They only cover very high prescriptions, but like no other lens can. The XR powers start where others leave off.
As for the Proclear or Purevision, the only way to know which may be best in your specific case will be to have trial lenses. The Proclear say " best " for dry eyes, but they aren't always the " best " for comfort or vision. Many people just can't wear that material at all.
The pros and cons of different toric lenses can be debated all day, but it all comes down to which one will work best for you, and no one can guess at that.
Your Dr. can get you trial lenses then do a follow up to see what works for you. There is no " works for all " in torics.
