are GEO circle contacts safe?
i want to get geo contact lenses
are the safe, my dad thinks they will hurt my vision, but he still has never heard of them
are they the same normal contacts, i wish they re okay
i need contact, but i cannot buy acuvue or pro clear, or any other brand because they are too expensive
is honeycolour.com a good website to buy them from, or iheartgb.com or angelcontacts.com all these are affordable for me
which would be the best if circle lenses were safe, plz reply as soon as you can, an optometrist answer would help
THANK YOU
I'm an optom student elsewhere
if that counts.
GEO lenses are a fashion accessory, and my gut feeling is "unsafe". Your eyes are individual, and only you have them... so why risk a "one-size-sold-to-everybody" bit of plastic? You don't buy clothes that are one-size-fits-all, do you? However, they are reasonably known, despite my misgivings.
Anyways, didn't mean to apply the scare tactics, but that's my personal experience. If you want to wear them properly -
1. Risk of infection: if something did go wrong, you could severly affect your eyes from ever wearing contacts ever again. And it's not taking into account the cost of seeing a doctor for some antibiotics for pinkeye or worse. Or the cleaning agents you'd use when not wearing the contacts.
2. Fitting assessment - contacts don't always come in a "perfect-to-your-eye" size - the chances that it does is very small. So 'invest' in an Optom to assess your eyes for you.
3. Cost of contacts: I hate to break it to you, but if you're thinking Acuvue, Proclear and others of those are expensive, I don't think you've considered the cost of the cleaning agents, have you? Because you're taking a risk getting these online - they've been made up to some other country's regulations - which isn't the same as buying them from the pharmacist/drugstore. Because at least you know the pharmacist/drugstore is responsible for guaranteeing the safety of the lenses. Online - fat chance. So I'm not even going to the online websites debate - I personally don't trust them, only the websites that I know that have a local office (for me) and can be sued if something goes wrong.
