Got pulled over and not wearing my glasses?
I got pulled over the other day and he realized that I wasnt wearing my glasses. He told me its an arrestable defense and I have to go to Traffic Court.
I wasnt wearing my glasses because my vision isnt corrected with glasses, I have keratoconus which is a corenal problem. I need hard lenses whih havent arrived yet. I did not crash or run a stop light, or anything, he claims I "cut him off" and is sending me to court for improper change of lane and not wearing corrective lenses.
What is the worst that can happen to me because of this?
I was thinking they will probably suspend my lisence until my contacts arrive, then make me take an eye test to reinstate it.
This isnt something I can go to jail for, is it?
Does anybody know?
the probable cause for stopping you was a moving violation. the officer didn't cite you for it but gave you a citation for not wearing your glasses. that is a valid charge. if you do not take care of that citation by the due date thats on it, a warrant may be issued for your arrest. The best thing to do is take it to court and explain to the judge what you just told us here.
