can anyone tell me the procedure of getting your first pair of contact lenses?
i want to get a pair but i want to know beforehand what they'll do. i.e do they check your eyes and all that?
and how is it different if you're getting disposables or not?
When you go to get contacts from your eye doctor, they will do a normal eye examination. They will also check the size of your eyeball (yes it sound crazy but they do) with a bright light that they look through. They do this to make sure they get the proper fit so that the contacts are comfortable for you. The doctor may ask you a few questions about your eyes. Like, "Are your eyes dry?", "Do you have problems seeing at night?", and so on.
There aren't any differences in the examination when you are getting disposable contacts. All they are really doing is checking your eye sight and figuring out which contacts will work the best for you.
