Why do people take a risk on their eye health for vanity?
i used to work at an optical store and people without prescriptions (current or at all) would insist on ordering contacts just for vanity or out of not wanting an eye exam.
ive seen too many cases where people have 'tried' on lenses for fun for an extended time and made their eyesight worse or even damaged their eyes
i mean, is it worth it for reasons of looking good or saving 10s of dollars?
News flash: People are vain and short-sighted, literally and figuratively. We're the same race that used to have our lower ribs surgically removed so we would have wasp-waists, remember. Now we greatly increase our risk for skin cancer by tanning, strip off layers of protective dental enamel for whiter smiles, and damage our eyes. Nothing new there, really.
